Gwen A. Johnson age 59, of Greenville passed away Monday, June 26, 2023 at her home. She was born November 19, 1963 the daughter of George & Antoinette (Indelicato) Akens. Gwen was a mother to all. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. She loved music, giving the best gifts, cooking, sailing, speed walking, all animals and the people she met and worked with at Laurels and at St. Mary’s. Gwen loved a good game of Solitaire and Soap Box, as well as spending as much time as possible with her grandkids. This loss will be felt by many. Gwen is survived by her daughter Jenn Loudin (Amanda), her grandchildren Dylan and Spencer along with her Domestic Parter Ed Bennett, daughter Angela Bennet and son Stan Bennet. She was preceded in death by her father George A. Akens, mother Antoinette Hilton and her brother George A. Akens. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, more information to follow. Contributions in Gwen’s name can be donated to the local nonprofit Grand Rapids Pitbull Alliance. From petfood banks to emergency fostering, GRPBA is making an immeasurable difference in several local communities.
