Jane W. Alcorn, 95, of Monroe Township, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at her residence.
Born and raised in New Brunswick, Jane resided in Hightstown for many years, where she and her late husband, George, raised their six children.
In years past, Jane enjoyed time at the Jersey Shore in Lavallette, winters in Naples, Florida, and singing with the Sweet Adelines Barbershop Chorus. She attended Emanuel Lutheran, Nativity Lutheran, and St. Paul's Lutheran Churches over the years and enjoyed singing in the churches' choirs.
Always available with a listening ear, Jane offered sound and sage advice. She was grounded, humble, and wise, and enjoyed an unpretentious, joy filled life. A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Jane treasured her family. She will be fondly remembered for her love of dancing, her kind heart, her loving ways, and her contagious laugh.
Predeceased by her parents, William and Rose Witte; her husband, George Alcorn; and her siblings, Grace, William, Alice, Ruth, Marion, and Robert; she is survived by her children and their spouses, Linda Jane Bloom, Robert George and Kathryn Spencer Alcorn, Janice Alcorn Ridley, Kenneth Witte Alcorn and Dr. Elizabeth A. Atkinson, Beverly Susan and Noel Sabatino, and Melissa Rose and John Nicola; her 17 grandchildren; her 12 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews, and their families.
A memorial service will be held at a future date.
