I'm so NOT surprised that Jim's obit is short and sweet and that there are no services ... that sounds JUST LIKE HIM.
We met in his final years right before his retirement at Sunoco by Bud Murphy's. I was determined that "old man" was going to do more than grunt at me each time I filled up. I would annoy him with kindness. He put up a great fight but no one is more annoying than me (thank you very much!)
Fast forward to 3 months ago when he reached out on Messenger to make sure I knew he had cancer. Despite a 20 year age difference, no common friends, and never speaking to one another unless at Sunoco, Walmart, occasionally on FB, Messenger or in the community, Jim trusted me with personal info he had only heard for the first time hours before.
Jim, I pray you are happy, feeling loved, appreciated and no longer grumpy. :) Thank you for your friendship and for letting me know on Halloween evening that you transitioned from this world to the next. I'll miss you dearly.
