Joyce Lerion Moles, 78, of Byrdstown, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at the Pickett County Care and Rehabilitation Center (PCC&RC) in Byrdstown, TN.
Joyce was born on February 5, 1945, in Williams Chapel, Cedar Grove Community, near Byrdstown, Pickett County, TN, the last of five children to Church Odis and Ada Pearl (Neal) Pemberton. She was raised in Pickett County, TN, and lived her entire life residing in and around Byrdstown.
She attended Pickett County High School, Class of 1962.After graduation in 1962, at age 17, she began working as an office employee at Byrds Manufacturing Corporation, or "The Shirt Factory" as it was called in Byrdstown. She retired in 2000 after 38 years. Joyce Pemberton married Larry "Paul" Moles on September 16, 1965, in Gainsboro, Jackson County, TN. She professed "Faith in Christ" at an early age and was of the nondenominational faith. She attended Wolf River Baptist Church (with Pastor Rick Cross) in Byrdstown, TN. Joyce enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning and baking. She was regarded as an excellent bookkeeper.
She is survived by her: Nephews Harold Pemberton (Conservator) of Chattanooga, TN; Thomas Edgreen of Anderson, IN; Robert Edgreen of Lapel, IN; Nieces Patsy Springer of Benbrook, TX; Annette Beach of Medway, OH; Debra Edgreen of Lapel, IN; Special friends Nancy & Nicole Lee of Pall Mall, TN; Ron Steinhour of Byrdstown, TN; Caregivers and staff at the PCC&RC; Neighbors, former coworkers and hometown friends.
She was preceded in death by her: Husband of 46 years, Larry "Paul" Moles; Parents; Siblings Dorman Odell Pemberton, Carmen Dorvell "Pete" Pemberton, Fonza Dean (Pemberton) Vickery, Ruth Olene (Pemberton) Edgreen; Father & Mother-in-law Fred and Bertha Moles; Nephews Michael Pemberton, Rondal Vickery.
Funeral services for Joyce Moles with Brother Rick Cross officiating as Minister. Visitation services on May 4, 2023, evening at 5:00 PM. Funeral services on May 5, 2023, at 1:00 P M.from the Brown Funeral Chapel.
Serving as pallbearers were Robert Bond, Leslie Reeder, Hurlen Whittenburg, Ron Steinhour and Harold Pemberton.
