Judith Barbera Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Alexander-Levitt Funeral and Cremation Center on Mar. 15, 2023.
Judith Lee Barbera, 79, of Tamarac, Florida, and formerly of Hagerstown, Maryland, was a sweet, caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She died on March 10, 2023, in Coral Springs, Florida, with her family surrounding her with love and prayers. Judith showed a lot of courage while battling medical conditions and even during the loss of her beloved husband, Harold Barbera. Her sweet smile, friendly personality, and contagious laugh made everyone that crossed her path fall in love with her.
Born on November 27, 1943 to Frank and Anna Lee Knapp, Judith grew up in Hagerstown, Maryland, alongside her brother Frank Knapp III.
Judith was a genuine people person who loved to encourage others. She enjoyed writing and sharing her heart through inspirational poems. She wrote, "Live in a heavenly manner, focus on the good in life, be very nice to your family and friends, try not to worry, enjoy your coffee every day, try to be happy, and always pray." She was indeed a gem and lived her life like the words of her poems, making people smile and laugh and, most of all, pointing others to Jesus and his amazing grace.
There are many words to describe Judith. First and foremost, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She liked to dance, sing, laugh, and go shopping; she appreciated pretty flowers, especially daisies, and sunflowers; she was fond of butterflies and birds; she enjoyed writing poems and watching TV; and most of all, she adored Jesus and sought to share his love, grace and hope with others.
Judith wrote, "I am in Christ Jesus, I love people, I love to laugh, I enjoy drawing, I love to encourage people, and I love to help Hal, Amy, Julie, and my grandchildren." She, indeed, was an angel on earth. Now she is a special angel in heaven.
Judith was a beloved wife of 50 years, and she joined her husband in heaven precisely eight months after he passed. She was a loving mother to her two daughters, Amy Barbera and fiancé Torrence (TC) Copeland of Tamarac, Florida, and Julie Barbera and husband German Barrera of Boca Raton, Florida. She was the cherished grandmother of Sebastian and Deangelo Barrera. Judith also had a close relationship with her daughter Amy's dog Oreo.
Judith's private memorial service will occur at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida.

We love you Grandma. While it's sad that you're gone, we know you're in a much better place with Uncle Bud, your Mom, Aunt Betty, your Dad, Grandpa, and everyone else you loved. I made this picture because it reminds me of the joy and cheer you brought everyone.
