Keith Edwin Cobb called "Petey" by his family of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on October 23, 2022 after a long hard fight with metastatic breast cancer. Born August 6, 1955 to Orenzo Cobb and Cora Sue Cobb of Kansas City, Missouri.
At an early age Keith was baptized and joined St. Luke AME Church in Salisbury, Missouri.
After High School, Keith briefly worked for Burlington Northern Railroad after which with the support and encouragement of his big brother, Thomas Moz ee, he joined the Kansas City Fire Department where he enjoyed a thirty-six-year career.
In 1985 Keith met his wife, Karla Glasgow-Cobb, they married October 29, 1977 and would have celebrated their thirty-fifth anniversary on October 29, 2022.
Keith was a proud member of Local 42. Firefighting was his passion. In 1997 he received the highest achievable recognition by the Department, the "Award for Valor". This award was presented to Keith for his heroic act for running back into a burning structure without protective gear to save a man's life. Although Keith delighted in all things fire related whether he was driving a fire truck or a pumper, doing underwater rescue, or riding out as Captain, truly his first love was firefighting. As he would often tell his wife how he preferred to work at the fire stations with the "most action" where the chance of getting fire calls were greater.
Keith loved the Chiefs, race cars, boats, horseback riding and fishing especially with his friends. Never one to brag or boast, he loved the Chevrolet Corvette and owned a few in his lifetime. Hard tops and drop tops and when he was behind the wheel all you would see was his huge, beautiful infectious smile.
Keith leaves to mourn his wife, Karla Glasgow-Cobb; son, William Hobley of Kansas City; sister, Jeanetta; brother, Thomas Moz ee of Kansas City; sister, Lauretha Cobb of Chicago, Illinois; sister-in-law, Tami Glasgow of Moultrie, Georgia; niece, Nadida Moz ee of Overland Park, Kansas; nephews, Marcus Cobb of Chicago, Illinois, Danien Cobb of St. Louis, Missouri, Marlon Moz ee, Malcolm Moz ee and Malik Moz ee of Kansas City, Missouri; great niece, Snaybree Moz ee of Norman, Oklahoma; uncle, Warren Hayes; aunt, Phyllis Johnson of Kansas City; a host of first, second, third and fourth generation cousins; friend who treated Keith like a brother, Tony Jones of Kansas City.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 4, 2022,11:00am at the Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the chapel. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.

I was fortunate to work with Keith for several years. Hard working firefighter with a great sense of humor. On taco Tuesdays, we were always amazed by how many tacos that Keith could consume. Lest We Forget.

Worked with Keith at #7 Fire Station. He was a hard worker and a good firefighter. Infectious laugh to go with his appetite for tacos when we would go down on the Boulevard on Taco Tuesdays. RIP Keith.
