Kevin Dalton Matthews

Kevin Dalton Matthews, 52 of Winston Salem passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday June 28,2022 following a short illness. Kevin was born on December 16,1969 to Ronnie Matthews and Brenda Glenn. Kevin was the proud co-owner of Matthews Services along with his devoted wife and soulmate Kathy Matthews whom he married on February 14,1992 and they recently celebrated 30 years of marriage. They have one daughter Amethyst whom he loved and adored. Kevin most recently became PopPop to Axel Beck Ford and he is Kevin's twin here on earth. Kevin enjoyed gardening, playing guitar and spending time with the love of his life in his spare time. He was a very proud American and loved the American flag which he displayed proudly. Kevin worked very hard and always strived to make sure the Matthews name was always respected in his business as well as in life. Kevin is survived by his wife Kathy Matthews of the home, daughter Amethyst and partner Roger Ford, grandson Axel Ford, father Ronnie (Robin) Matthews, mother Brenda Glenn, sisters Kimberly(Darren) Davis, Emily (Dave) Southers and Candace Glenn, brother Brad (Heather) Matthews, uncles Dalton (Ellen) Matthews, Terry (Pam) Matthews, as well as a very special brother and sister in law Rusty and Karen Bowers, a very close cousin Nikki (Craig) Davis, nieces, nephews and many other family that will be left to cherish his memory. The family will be having a celebration of Kevin's life on July 16,2022 at 3 pm at Hayworth Miller of Rural Hall. Family asks that you come and celebrate his life and share memories and stories of times spent with him.
