Linda Acton, 59, of Owensboro, passed away on February 4, 2024, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Owensboro to John L. McHenry and Helen A. McHenry.
Linda was a member of Tenth Street Missionary Baptist Church. She spent most of her life working in the healthcare and manufacturing fields. Most recently, she returned to school to further her education and become recertified as a State Registered Nurse Aide. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren, attending their sporting events, and being with her family. Linda was a quiet woman; however, she was known as the nicest mother, cousin, friend, and sister, always willing to help in any way possible. Although she didn't engage much with the outside world, she would occasionally scroll through social media on her phone to keep up with her childhood friends and family members.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Melvin McHenry, and her grandson Dre'Tyus Talbott and her dear friend and father of her children Yardley Acton.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, LaToya Acton; two sons, Bradley Acton and Justin Acton; two brothers, Alec McHenry and Michael McHenry; and six grandchildren, Javar Acton, Ah'Mod Talbott, Dre'Lan Acton, Isabella Guerrero, Bradley Acton Jr., and BryLin Acton.
A service to honor the memory of Linda Acton will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday February 10, 2024 at Mt Calvary Baptist Church, 507 Plum Street with the Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Parks as officiant and eulogist. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday February 9 and from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at McFarland Funeral Home, 1001 W 5th St, Owensboro. Committal service at Christ Chapel and Burial will follow the funeral service on Saturday at Owensboro Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5050 Hwy 144, Owensboro.
