The beautiful and beloved Linda Syvia Grant, 61, of Neptune, NJ was called home on Thursday, January 13, 2022. She was born in Sumter, South Carolina on February 9, 1960 to Ethel Grant and the late Edward Grant.
Linda attended Neptune High School. She went on to work for the State of New Jersey for 33 years until her retirement in 2017. During her time with the State, she received many achievement awards, certifications and recognitions.
Linda was known for so many things, from her contagious smile, her sweet personality, and her true love of life. She had the most humble spirit and excellent work ethic. Linda was a dependable, honest, and loyal woman. She was a wonderful mother and nah-nah (grandmother). She was also known for being the "favorite sister". Linda was our very own family hairdresser. There are boundless acknowledgements to be said about Linda.
She loved spending time with her family. You could always count on her to give you her genuine views, while she never passed judgment. She enjoyed trying different hairstyles and going shopping. Linda was an early bird, so when she went outside the house to do something, all of her tasks were completed no later than 8:30/9 am. Any other time after that she considered the entire day was over. She was on point, a go getter, no nonsense type of person who took care of business. Linda loved to cook and clean and had a special gift with arts and crafts.
She believed she was the queen of playing Dominos. Linda treated everyone with dignity and respect. She was a true blessing to all who had the honor of knowing her. It is beyond admirable the way Linda lived her life.
Linda moved to York, Pennsylvania 4 years ago where she lived happily. She described herself as being free. She had been an active and loyal member of "Excel One Ministries". In 2018, she was baptized in Muskrat Lake at the Ottawa Valley Pentecostal Camp in Ottawa, Canada. Linda accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and practiced his teachings in her everyday life.
Linda was predeceased by her father, Edward Grant. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving daughter, Kanya Grant; loving granddaughters, Tayla Grant, Synai and Syrah Holmes; loving grandson, Pharaoh Ford; loving mother, Ethel Grant; loving sisters, Marion Russell (Robert), Elouise Grant, Dellareese Grant, Willie Mae Graham (Michael), and Sonia Grant; loving brothers, Danny Weston and Ethan Grant; loving and devoted partner, Kevin Stewart; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
