Fatimah Shanice Foster passed away unexpectedly August 28th, 2025 at the tender age of 32 in her home in Neptune, NJ. Her whole life she was a kind, gentle and beautiful spirit who saw the good in others and maintained an admirable sense of humility despite her many accomplishments and angelic beauty.
Fatimah Shanice Foster was born on February 22,1993 to Tracy Moreland and Kenneth Foster. Her early years were spent growing up in Asbury Park and Neptune, NJ with her mother, Tracy Moreland-Vasser, and step-father David Vasser and her older sister Mariella 'Lala' Jimenez where she was loved and adored by everyone who knew her. Fatimah was a true girl's girl with a close-knit friend group of young women from the Neptune and Asbury area who many described as "Switzerland" with her unproblematic relationships within her friend group. She was an incredibly intelligent and deeply compassionate young woman with impeccable taste who had a love for art in all its various forms: fashion, film, music, fine art etc.
Fatimah graduated from Neptune High School with the class of 2011 where she was a vibrant and active member of the student body as a Scarlet Fliers Cheerleader and a member of the Track and Field squad. After high school Fatimah went on to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Media Studies from Rutgers University-New Brunswick in 2015.
Upon graduation she began a career in video production, video editing and social media management which allowed her to work for companies like CBS, People Magazine, the Drew Barrymore Show and MTV. Fatimah was also a talented freelance photographer and videographer who captured images of major and local musicians, birthday parties, family gatherings etc. Additionally, her passion for fashion led her to become a collector and seller of fine vintage clothing.
She is survived by her mother, Tracy Moreland-Vasser, her father, Kenneth'Tysef' Foster, Stepfather, David Vasser, her grandfather Robert Moreland Sr., a host of siblings, sisters, Mariella 'Lala' Jimenez, Tiena Morgan, Riyonna Taylor, Simone Foston, Tyana Foster, Tykeyah Foster and brother Tysef Foster, God sister, Zakiyyah Mays,Uncle Brian 'Keith' Moreland, Aunts Lisa Moreland, Arlene Stevens, Almenta Foster, cousins Almenta 'Munch' Foster, Ronasia Foster, Asia Foster, Chester Goodson III, Aunt Shannon Goodson and Uncle Chester'Grateful' Goodson, Nikida Moreland, Michelle Moreland, Natasha Moreland, Nydera Moreland, Ramera Odom, Nyron Odom, Demi Moreland, Marley Moreland, Denton Moreland, Paula 'Renee' Reeves aka Aunt Buffy, Sidney Reeves, Tiffany Richardson, Chester Goodson III, Briana Goodson, Iyeshia Jefferson, Derek Jefferson and her two best friends Tierra Henry and Jazmyr Poole, as well as a host of cousins, aunts and uncles from the Moreland, Foster, Niblack and Farley families. She now joins her grandmothers Lenora Moreland, Rose Foster and Uncle Robert 'Bobby' Moreland Jr., Uncle Albert 'Power' Foster, Uncle Gerald 'Butt' Foster and cousin, Denise Jefferson Aka Aunt Denise in heaven.
Fatimah will remain in the hearts and minds of her close friends and families for the rest of our days. This is an incredible loss for all who have had the pleasure of knowing this beautiful soul.
