Lionel Tamayo Obituary
Lionel Garza Tamayo, 82, was born July 9, 1941 in Houston, Texas and entered eternal rest on January 25, 2024 in Humble, Texas. Lionel was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Lionel is preceded in death by his father, Manuel Tamayo; his mother, Maria Garza Tamayo-Vasquez; his loving wife, Rebecca A. Garcia-Tamayo; his brother, Israel Tamayo; and his sister, Anita Salinas Tamayo-Perez. He leaves behind to cherish and treasure his memories his children, Stephanie Silva & husband Carlos, Patricia Tamayo Rodriguez & husband Alfred, Pamela Garcia, Stephanie Tamayo, Paula Tamayo-Ortiz & husband Ray; his grandchildren, Stephen Ocampo-Meyers, Eric Ocampo, Katherine Carlson, Alfred Rodriguez III, Amanda Rodriguez, Alex Rodriguez, Ashly Garcia, Samantha Benavides, Jesse Colunga, Christopher Villa, Ariel Ortiz; 7 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Robert Tamayo, Guadalupe Vasquez Diaz & husband Paul, Raul Vasquez & wife Annabelle; He is also survived by many other relatives and a host of good friends. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Methodist Hospital for such great care. Lionel will be dearly missed by all those who shared wonderful memories with him.
