Granny spent more than twenty years portraying the loved character "Buckshot Granny" at Silver Dollar City. With an eye for beauty, she loved oil painting and doing crafts. The memories and moments created over Granny's lifespan will be cherished by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Terry Dale Hicks, and her parents.
Granny is survived by her two daughters: Jackie (Brett) Whipple of Galesburg, Illinois, and Judy Keith (Jim) of Branson, Missouri, three grandchildren: Devin (Eric) Daggett, Amy (Dustin) Hodges, and John (Jamilah) Keith, all of Illinois; three great-grandchildren; brother, Dan Hoots and sister-in-law, Marie of Hillsboro, Oregon; and her "family" from Silver Dollar City.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday March 9, 2023, at Cremations of the Ozarks, 115 Industrial Park Dr., Hollister, Missouri 65672. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
