Margaret C. Baumann

Margaret "Maggie" Baumann, 37 years old, passed away surrounded by family and friends on September 13, 2023 at IU Health Methodist Hospital. Maggie fought several serious health issues over the last year and succumbed to complications from a recent diagnosis of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Maggie was born on October 2, 1985 in Oxford, Ohio, the eldest child of Thomas P. and Teresa A. (Powers) Baumann. Maggie was preceded in death by her loving grandparents. She married Kenneth Becknell, son of Thomas and Debbie Becknell on September 25, 2021.
In addition to her husband, Maggie is survived by her parents, her sister Ellen (William) Selle and brother Theodore Baumann, and numerous nieces and nephews. Maggie was loved by large extended families and a huge circle of friends.
Maggie was a graduate of Mercy High School in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky University where she graduated with honors and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Integrative Studies.
She was employed by Cincinnati Children's Hospital where she enjoyed a nearly 20 year career in various capacities including Patient Care Assistant, Child Life Specialist intern, and Clinical Research Coordinator. As an infant Maggie was diagnosed with congenital heart disease (CHD), and as a result, was a lifelong advocate for adult survivors of CHD. Maggie was instrumental in founding the Cincinnati Children's Adult CHD Survivors Group. Throughout her life and especially the last year, Maggie was an advocate for her own health and an inspiration to others, including her team of compassionate caregivers.
Maggie's life will be celebrated on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Andres-Wuestefeld Funeral Home in Dover, IN. Friends and family may call on Maggie's family between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. Commemorative Service to start at 2:00 pm.
