Maria Phipps Obituary

She was born November 11, 1968 in Springfield, Missouri and came home to Cassville, Missouri where she lived her entire life. Maria was one of the first children to attend Barry-Lawrence County Development Center. From the age of five until 21 she attended Oakview State School in Monett, Missouri, then the ARC Day Program in Cassville, she also received music and art therapy through the Music and Creative Arts Center in Monett. After the sudden death of her father, Maria entered Roaring River Health and Rehab where she was lovingly cared for day and night.
Maria loved her swing in the back yard, splashing in her pool, music, especially when attending the United Methodist Church in Cassville and eating out and traveling with her mom and dad. Heaven is a wonderful home now for dear Maria.
Surviving are her mother, Linda Kay Phipps of Cassville, Missouri, her aunt and uncle, Nancy and Jim Crowell of Columbia, Missouri and many cousins and special friends.
Preceding her in death were her father, Marvin Phipps and her aunt, Audra Stanifer.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Jeff Fugitt will conduct the services.
Friends may come pay their respects from 1:00 until 2:30 P.M. Thursday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
Contributions may be made to The Arc of the Ozarks or Barry-Lawrence County Development Center in memory of Maria.
