Miles Phipps, 15, of Urbandale, Iowa, passed away on November 4, 2025. He was born on October 21, 2010, to Rocky Phipps and Ashley Campbell.
Miles attended Johnston Elementary School and later Urbandale High School, where he was a part of the GSA Club, a space where he found community and connection.
Music became one of his greatest passions. With his guitar, he could express things words didn't always capture, composing melodies that were beautiful, and uniquely his.
Sitting still was never his style. He approached life with drive, creativity, and a desire to fully express who he was. He loved anything with wheels. Skateboarding, rollerblading, biking, and going to the skate park were some of his favorite ways to spend his time. Completing RAGBRAI as part of the Dream Team was something he was incredibly proud of.
Miles also loved cooking and experimenting in the kitchen, finding joy in trying new things. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors, and he looked forward to comicon and cosplay, where he could let his creativity run wild and have fun being himself.
Miles was thoughtful in the sweetest, most unexpected ways. He had a habit of giving people small gifts, little treasures he made or found, simply to brighten their day. He was driven, unique, and proud of who he was. And he had a tender love for animals, especially his beloved cat, Shevee, who meant the world to him.
He is survived by his parents, Rocky and Ashley; sister, Aeva; step-mom, Lizzie; step-sister, Soph; grandfather, Troy; aunts, Niki, Angela, Sarah, and Jesseca; uncles, Brandon, Asa, Dave, and Pat; along with many other family, friends, and the family he has made within the Dream Team.
Miles made an impact far greater than his years, and he will be held in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
