Marion (Hartley) Tucker, 89 transitioned from her earthly home on Saturday. October 21, 2023 at home. She was born to the late Marion Edna Hartley (Smith) and Stuyvesant Hartley on April 27, 1934 in Manhatten, NY. At an early age, Marion relocated with her family to Long Island, NY where she was educated in the Long Island School System. In 1955, Marion married Roland Tucker and they raised their eight children in Medford, NY In 2000, Marion relocated to Carrboro, NC with her husband of 54 years until his death in 2009. Eventually, she moved to Ocala, Florida where she spent her final years in the company of her devoted daughter Carol, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Carol Tucker-Sanes of FL, Barbara Kerr of NC.
Sherman Tucker of TX, Karen Tucker-Bell, Roland Tucker, Carl Tucker, Marvin Tucker all of NY, Grandchildren: Yolanda Tucker & Rayshawn Tucker of FL, Jerge Lugo & Jazmyne Tucker of VA, Melissa Johnson of NJ, Jamaal Wallace and Sidney Kerr of NC,
Evan Wells & Aubrey Tucker of SC. Robert Sanes, Talaya Harrington, Denzel Bell. John Williams Jr, Shameka Williams, Quiana Durham all of NY. Tyesha Tucker, Jermaine Tucker & James Williams of TX, Sisters: Bernice Newsom of NY, Frances Dykes of PA, Elaine Archie of NC, and one brother-in-law Tyrone Archie of NC. Marion also leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at Holloway Memorial Funeral Home, 2502 NC Hwy 55, Durham, NC on Thursday, November 2, 2023; visitation service from 10:00 to 11:00 am, funeral service at 11:00 am.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Glennview Memorial Park.
