Mary Jo Babers

On Thursday, October 19, 2023, Mary Jo Babers, age 60, resident of Hollis, OK, left her earthly body to be transformed to her heavenly home, while surrounded with loved ones at the family home.
On July 7, 1963, Mr. Albert H. and Rossie Lee (Daniels) Moore were delighted with joy at the birth of their daughter Mary Jo Moore in Amarillo, TX. She was raised and educated in Waxahachie, Texas, but enjoyed her summers in Hollis, OK, visiting her grandparents and family.
On December 14, 1982, Mary married the love of her life, Carl Babers. They were joined in holy matrimony by Carl's father, the late Elder Otis Babers, Sr. This union provided them with two beautiful blessings, their lovely daughters: Alisha Babers and Amanda Babers. God blessed them with three additional blessings: Kenda Battle, Katia Battle, and Karlie Battle, their granddaughters.
Mary Jo worked for over twenty - seven years at Colonial Manor II Nursing Home as a dietary aid. She loved the residences and enjoyed making long-life friends. She also enjoyed being the caretaker of her family and in-laws. Sis Mary Jo dedicated her life to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a faithful giver in the church. She enjoyed giving her tithes and offerings to the Lord and being active member of her church, Babers Temple: Church of God in Christ. Mary glorified the Lord with her whole heart and being. In her spare time, she loved on her granddaughters and daughters. They were the joy of her heart. Mary Jo took joy from spending time with her loved ones and finding those super bargains at garage sales with Carl, and fellowshipping with her church family and the Saints. Mary was that prayer warrior for her family and obeyed the voice of God. She cherished the wisdom and love from her in-laws: Pastor Otis Babers and Mother Katie Babers. They held a special closeness in her heart. Mary leaves a legacy of love and devotion to her family, especially her pride and joy, her daughters: Alisha and Amanda.
Preceding Mary in death were her parents: Albert H. Moore and Rossie Lee (Daniels) Moore; Brother: Jimmye Duty; Sister: Selin Duty; and her In-laws: Otis Lee Babers, Sr. & Katie Mae (Crowder) Babers.
Left to carry on Mary's legacy and memories are her husband: Carl Lee Babers; her daughters: Alisha Babers and Amanda Babers with her Granddaughters: Kenda, Katia, and Karlie all, Her Siblings: Patrick Duty (Belinda) and Terry Duty, Special Nieces& Nephew: Tanisha Duty, Tabitha Campbell and Cornilus Campbell Armani Adkins. Her Sisters & Brother In-Laws: Faye McDaniel (LC); Otis Babers, Jr. Special friend: Craig Moody and Special Cousin: Linda Atkins A host of nieces and nephews and cousins as well as her church family: Babers Temple COGIC and Church Mother: Mother Tommie Wilson and Pastor and Wife: Elder Keven and Missionary Tamara Ward.
The Babers family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2023, at Babers Temple in Hollis, Oklahoma.
A homegoing celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Babers Temple in Hollis, Oklahoma with Pastor Kevin Ward officiating. Mrs. Mary Babers will be laid to rest at Fairmount Cemetery, Hollis, Oklahoma.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.
