Mary Len Lang

Mary Len Lang was born November 27, 1933, in Houston, Texas. She was the daughter of Alonzo and Alma Watson Smith. She left this earthly world on February 23, 2024, at the age of 90. Mary was well-known for her caring and kindness and will be missed by all who knew her.
In her early years Mary was an avid equestrian. She won numerous championships for jumping courses on her horse Kangaroo. She loved Kangaroo and was very proud of his ability to jump the course fences.
Mary was a great artist. She worked for many years as a draftsman and her work was meticulous. She worked with watercolor and oil and her paintings show her heightened sense for detail. She was very creative and was always making something interesting. One of her most cherished creations was an artist's carrying case that would hold everything needed to paint out in the field.
Mary had a great love for animals of all kinds. She was a loyal advocate of PETA, The Humane Society, World Wildlife Fund and several other animal rescue organizations. During her later years she volunteered for the Humane Society of Utah. She had a great love for cats and enjoyed the company of many rescued feline friends throughout her life.
Mary loved reading and was a very intelligent conversationalist. She enjoyed the "Great Courses" and her library reflects a wide range of interesting books from art to history to poetry.
Mary is preceded in death by her son, Mark Lang, and her husband Lou. She is survived by her niece, Diane Stallings of Georgetown, Texas, and her cousins Don Johnson, Marguerite Brown, and Judy Bajoris.
The family wishes to thank Inspiration Hospice for their amazing care, and, especially Amber and Brittany for their dedication and caring hands. We also want to thank her dear friend, Nan, her kind friends and neighbors, and a special thanks to friends Kaz, Rachel, and Sherry for their care and support, especially during Mary's last few days.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
