Mrs. Melanie Forro Morrison, age 66, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on August 4, 1957, to the late Lewis Forro Sr. and Florence Imogene Agustus Hart Forro. Mrs. Morrison had a big heart that was always willing to help others in the time of need. She formed and operated a non-profit organization, Carolina Canine Rescue. She had worked for many years as a Nurse Practitioner at Blue Ridge Cardiology and Internal Medicine. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Surviving Mrs. Morrison is her partner of many years, Richard Holcomb; daughter and son-in-law, Hollie Bashlor and Wesley; son and daughter-in-law, David Morrison and Leslie; her very special grandchildren, Logan Morrison, Wyatt Morrison, Raylon Bashlor, and Ivy Bashlor; brothers and sister-in-law, Lewis Forro, David Forro and Gail, Robert Forro; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 2 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Brandon Morrison officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 1 PM until the time of the service. The family request in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Loxley Church of God, 5220 S. Hickory Street, Loxley, Alabama, 36551. Mrs. Morrison’s burial will take place at a later date at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery Trussville, Alabama. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Morrison family.
