Miss Mary Lucille Easter, 95, of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, October 27, 2025, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Miss Easter was born on September 20, 1930, in Carroll County, VA, the daughter of the late Isaac Franklin and Pearl Eveline Edwards Easter. Lucille worked for several years at Kentucky Derby Hosiery and later as a certified nursing assistant. She had been a faithful member of Flat Ridge Baptist Church since 1957. She is survived by a sister, Banner Combs of Mount Airy; a brother and sister-in-law, Wade and Esther Easter of Mount Airy; three nieces, Kathy Brintle and her husband, Robert, of Dobson, Nova Combs of Mount Airy, and Doris East and her husband, Scotty, of Mount Airy; a nephew, the Rev. Ricky Easter and his wife, Judy, of Mount Airy; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and her special friends, Barbara Hill, Gayle Norman, and Mary Goins. In addition to her parents, Miss Easter was preceded in death by an infant brother, Curtis Hoover Easter; a brother and sister-in-law, Isaac Franklin “Frank” Easter, Jr. and Norsie Mae Easter; and a brother-in-law, Russell Combs. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Flat Ridge Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ricky Easter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, under the direction of Travis Holder. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
