Michael Charles Lind, age 71, of Pine River, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Appleton.

He was born May 19, 1951, in Berlin, WI, the son of Charles and Lyda Sattler Lind. Mike was baptized on June 10, 1951, at Emmaus Lutheran Church and was also confirmed there. He attended Glendale School and was a 1969 graduate of Wild Rose High School, where he was active in FFA and was very proud when he was selected for the Youth Conservation Camp in Manitowish Waters, WI. Mike went to UW-Stevens Point for two years then transferred to UW-River Falls where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. He was a member of Delta Theta Sigma Agricultural Fraternity. On July 20, 1974, he was united in marriage to Kathleen "Kathy" Gilbertson at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Amery, WI.

Mike's love for farming started at a young age as a 4-H member showing cattle. It continued during his college summers, when he worked at Green Giant in Ripon pea combining. From 1973 to 2013, Mike was a hard-working dairy farmer who loved his Allis-Chalmers tractors. His passion even continued after retirement, as he would sit in his lawn chair and enjoy watching his neighbors work their fields. His excitement would grow with the first choppers hitting the fields.

Beyond his love for farming, Mike enjoyed going up north trout fishing in his 30s and 40s with his father-in-law. He knew where all the best spots were! Mike had an affection for cats and birds, liked to hunt, and was a prankster. He enjoyed going to auctions, garage sales and estate sales finding treasures for his various collections and for entertainment. Mike will be remembered most for going out of his way to help others. He thought the world of his family and spending time with his kids and grandchildren. He always made time for them no matter what. He was a member of the Saxeville Town Board for 40 years from 1979 to 2019, and Emmaus Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; two daughters, Melissa (Nathan) Najdowski and Sarah Lind; two sons, Nathan Lind and Matthew (Stephanie) Lind; six grandchildren, Connor Lind, Emma Najdowski, Theresa Najdowski, Ethan Najdowski, Henry Najdowski and Claire Najdowski; brother, Phillip (Donna) Lind; brother-in-law, Bruce Hamilton; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mike is further survived by his Godmother, Marge Lind; mother-in-law, Rose Gilbertson; two brothers-in-law, Randy (Marla) Gilbertson and Paul (Patti) Gilbertson; and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann (Norman) Will and JoNell (James) Leadholm. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia Lind.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 13, at 11:00 a.m., at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi, Rev. Brian Weber officiating. Interment will be in Brushville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 12, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin, and on Tuesday at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi one hour prior to the services.
