Mrs. Mildred Kay Jackson Sollie, beloved wife of Mark, entered into rest peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2025.

The family invites friends to a visitation and celebration of life on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 1:00 until 3:00 in the chapel of Platt’s Funeral Home on N Belair Road. Speeches and Prayer will start at 2:00.

In addition to her husband, Mark, she is survived by her sons, Hunter Sollie (Emily) and Tyler Sollie, a brother Randy Jackson (Cathy), her sweet fur babies Vinnie and Sunny, her grand fur babies Moose and Tater, as well as multiple nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Gracie Jackson.

Kay was born in Nashville, Tennessee on July 3rd, 1955. She graduated Cum Laude from Westminster High School in Atlanta, Georgia in 1973 and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Davidson College in 1977. She then went on to receive her Juris Doctor in 1981 from the University of Georgia.

After graduating from law school, Kay moved to Savannah, Georgia where she started her career as an Assistant District Attorney (ADA). Through this experience, she developed a reputation for aggressively fighting for her client’s rights, a trait that earned her the unofficial title, “The Bulldog in High Heels.” After a few years of this, her reputation spread and she was eventually offered a partnership at the Law Offices of Fleming & Blanchard in Augusta, Georgia, making her one of the first females to practice law in Augusta. While at Fleming & Blanchard, Kay began practicing Domestic law, which is what she practiced until retirement. Kay eventually went on to open her own successful law practice, creating meaningful relationships with her clients and helping countless people through some of the most difficult times of their lives, before finally retiring in 2022 after a 41 year career.

Kay lived for her children, husband, and fur babies. Her favorite place in the world was Panama City Beach, Florida, a beach she had frequented since she was a little girl.

Kay is remembered for her loyalty, genuine matter-of-fact attitude, compassion, sharp wit, and joy of living. She was unafraid to bluntly “tell it how it is,” a trait that is slowly vanishing from this world. She was a friend to anyone who met her and to have met her was to have truly known her.

Kay was a ray of sunshine and laughter in people’s lives and she will be sorely missed by many. Her presence will continue to shine in this world and her legacy will live on through her family, friends, and everyone she touched with her captivating personality.

Flowers and condolences can be sent to Platt’s Funeral Home, located at 337 North Belair Rd, Evans, GA 30809. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the CSRA Humane Society, a foundation she held near and dear to her heart.
