Mr. Appling was more than just a neighbor; he and Mrs. Appling were pillars of our community. My sons lovingly called them Aunt Virginia and Uncle Otis. I vividly remember walking alongside Mr. Appling, his stride so strong and purposeful that I could barely keep up.

Through life´s many transitions, Mr. Appling was a constant source of love and prayer. He made it a point to personally check on my grandmother, my parents, and even my children, walking down the street just to see how we were doing. He always greeted me warmly with a heartfelt "Sister, how are you?" accompanied by a hug or a smile.

I will never forget his kindness and the love he so generously gave. Heaven has truly gained another angel. Well done, good and faithful servant.

With love always,

The Burwells -
