Susie Lee Porter was born May 24 th 1942 in Camden, South Carolina to Elizabeth and
James Porter Sr. Susie graduated high school in South Carolina. Susie left South
Carolina during the 1960's and moved to Plainfield, NJ where she resided until 2022.
Susie retired from Texize Dow Chemicals during the 1980's. After a few years of
retirement Susie decided to enter the workforce again. Susie started working at Care
One Nursing Home in the house keeping department. Susie loved people and enjoyed
helping them. Susie was a member of Queen City Baptist Church where she was in
charge of the kitchen and she was the head cook. Anyone who loves her knows that
cooking was her favorite thing to do. Susie loved cooking and feeding people. Some
years later Susie was a member of New Generation Worship Center. Susie used to
attend church regularly until her health made it difficult for her to do so. I cannot leave
out that she loved playing her pick it and talking on the telephone. Susie loved her Spa
days on the weekend. That was her time to relax and enjoy being extra pampered, She
would get hair washed and braided, her nails and feet done. When her daughter would
do her hair she would just close her eyes and enjoy the moment. Susie loved watching
the westerns, Carroll Burnett, The Beverly Hillbillies, Harlem Night and Tyler Perry
Madea.. Susie loved her family and her family loved her. Her daughter Tonya was her
caregiver until she transitioned.
Susie is survived by her son Keith Derrick Porter Camden, South Carolina, her daughter
Tonya Renee Porter Dunellen, NJ, a son Wesley Clyde Porter Plainfield, NJ, a sister in
law Jospehine Porter Camden, South Carolina and a grandson Dontae McCray
Plainfield, NJ and whole lot of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends to cherish her
memories

"Gene" Porter Sr, her brother James "Whop Porter Jr and her brother Marion
