Brian Edward Perry was born on March 18, 1964 in East Orange NJ to parents Clyde and Edward Perry. He went home to be with God on November 3, 2025 at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Hospital.
After completing Terrell Junior High School and graduating from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School with his Diploma, Brian attended Union County College in Cranford, NJ where he earned an AA Degree in Liberal Arts Illustration. He went on to excel professionally with over 23 years of United States Postal Service work experience as a mail batch sorter and call center representative. Later, Brian worked part-time at Amazon fullfillment center in NJ and Macy's receiving department in NC where he was twice the recipient of Macy's Certificates for employment achievement 2018 - 2019.
As a young man, Brian demonstrated that he knew God for himself and enthusiastically participated in Cathedral International church groups and fellowship. He committed to Cathedral Bible Institute (Old Testament Survey), Men's Ministry, Security (Fruit of Jesus), and Soup Kitchen. A concept from Proverbs 27:17 and foundation of the Men's Ministry, Brian believed and embodied a spirit that "iron sharpens iron". Brian's love for cars was the motivation for helping to start Swift Classic Car Club. He owned classic cars and won 5th Annual G-Wiz Entertainment Top 20 Car Show Trophy and Cruisin with Raritan Bay Cruiser Trophy 2017. Brian was affiliated with Alex Wilkie's Martial Arts Academy and excelled at that to the best of his physical ability. He also loved travelling with his wife, socializing, swimming, sketching, corn hole game, making people laugh, pet dog and cat, poetry, and music. He was a lifelong die hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Brian was predeceased by his father Edward, older brother Jeffrey Perry and father-in-law Leon Coleman (Lottie). He leaves behind his loving mother Clyde, love of his life wife Joy Coleman Perry, and younger brother David Perry. He also leaves behind a dear mother-in-law Lottie Coleman, brother-in-law Leon Coleman (Kim), sister-in-law Ditra Coleman, sister-in-law Vicki Coleman, sister-in-law Gail Terry (Gregory), a niece and nephew, cousins, friends and Geri Yancey who was like a daughter to him. Brian was "Papa Bear" to Geri. Brian and Geri's bond grew over the years to include his wife Joy and remains.
Brian is missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
