Patricia Jean Bishop

Patricia Jean Bishop, age 71, of Newland, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023, surrounded by family and friends in a circle of love and prayer.
Patty was born December 4, 1951, in Mitchell, South Dakota, a daughter of the late Robert Bridges and the late Lorraine Schiltz Bridges. Patty was a proud Navy veteran. While she was in the Navy her work took her to the Pentagon. She loved to travel with her husband of 42 years. Their work took them all over the United States. Patty never met a stranger and loved to make people laugh. She loved to read, cook, and watch the animals and birds she fed in her backyard.
Patty leaves behind to cherish her memory; husband of 42 years, Ron L. Bishop; Step-sons Ron B. Bishop and wife Lisa and Glenn O'Banion; Sisters Mary Bridges Sandness and Jan Bridges; special friends Phillip and Ramona Odom a host of others family and friends who all loved her dearly.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to Carol Smith and the staff of AMOREM Hospice of the High Country for the wonderful and loving care they provided.
No services are planned. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
