Peggy Nixon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home - Midwest City on May 25, 2023.
Peggy Joy (Barrett) Nixon was born to Ernest and Joyce Barrett in Lookeba, OK on March 16, 1937, and went to be with the Lord on May 24, 2023 while in the Memory Care Unit of Arbor House in Midwest City. Peggy had happy memories of growing up in Anadarko, OK where she made many life-long friends. A widow with two young boys, she married Larry Nixon on January 19, 1963. They were married for sixty years and raised three children.
Her parents and five brothers preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; two sons, Dan (Jana) and Mickey (LaVonna); one daughter, Suzy (David); six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind two brothers, Herb (Eleanor) and Pat (Linda); one sister, Vanda Varva; her brother-in-law Nick (Rhonda) and sister-in-law Sue (Robert); and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
We celebrate her life as a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, neighbor, and friend. Her home was always open and inviting. She will be remembered for her generous nature, her magic touch with flowers, her sense of humor, her love for her family, and her sweet, sweet smile.
Peggy was a Christian and a faithful member of Sooner Baptist Church. She believed in God and rested on His promise assuring her, and us, that she is with Him today!
Graveside services will be in Anadarko at Memory Lane Cemetery at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 26, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests sending a donation to Sooner Baptist Church, Falls Creek Fund, 5824 SE 15th, Midwest City, OK 73110.
