Obituary published on Legacy.com by Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home - Del City on Dec. 3, 2025.
Wade Allen went to be with the Lord at age 70 on Saturday evening, November 29th, 2025, with his immediate family by his side.
Wade was born to a military family on September 19, 1955 in Greenville, SC. His family was stationed in various places such as the Philippines and California, but he called Ava, MO home. He joined the Air Force and served a total of 21 years, 8 years active duty, and 13 years Air Force Reserves. While serving in the Air Force Reserves, he worked as a Supply Technician at Tinker Airforce Base for over 30 years. He was married for 44 years to Betty Allen, father to his daughter Amanda and son Brian Allen, and he enjoyed his most recent role as Papa to Evelyn Allen.
Wade never met a stranger. He built instant connections with those he encountered in his daily routines of life. His train of thought ran on his own personal track which made complete sense to only him. He enjoyed photography, fishing, and his paracord creations. He honored veterans everywhere he went by handing them a gospel coin and pointing them to the One that died for their soul. After his retirement, he spent much of his time in the den scrolling Facebook, where his Facebook Verse of the Day & prayer ministry began.
Wade was an active member of Bodine Baptist Church for 36 years and served as the church treasurer, a Sunday School teacher, and singing in the choir over the years. He was involved with his community, participating in Citizen's Police Academy and serving as his Neighborhood Association's president and patroller in the Neighborhood Watch. He was a member of the National Security Forces Association and the Oklahoma Heartland Chapter actively participating in local events. His love for military servicemen led him to the Home Away from Home organization where he served at their events and hosted several 1st term airmen in his home for the past 6 years.
Wade was preceded in death by his father Cecil Henry Allen, mother Elizabeth Allen Ritchie, brother Cecil Karr Allen, brother Sidney Allen, brother Richard Allen, and sister Cindy Allen Fleming. He is survived by his wife Betty Allen, daughter Amanda Allen, son and daughter-in-law Brian and Angel Allen, granddaughter Evelyn Allen, brother and sister-in-law David and Dorothy Allen, brother and sister-in law Ben and Cherri Allen, sister-in-law Michelle Allen, brother-in-law Fred Fleming, and many nieces and nephews.
