On Saturday, November 15, 2025, Lloyd Dewayne Payne, loving husband and father of three, passed away at age 63. Lloyd was born on January 30, 1962, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Theodore Davis and Helen Payne. He graduated from Carl Albert High School in 1980 and received his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education from Oklahoma State University in 1984. On June 23, 1984, Lloyd married the love of his life, Melody Payne - a union that brought him his three greatest blessings: his eldest son, Justin Payne; his middle daughter, Brooklynn Howe; and his youngest daughter, Reaghan Payne. He spent his life devoted to his family and to serving his community through nearly 40 years of dedicated work with the United States Food and Drug Administration. While quiet by nature, his laughter - loud and unapologetically joyful - echoed through camping trips, family dinners, and late-night talks that made everyone around him feel safe and known. With his sharp wit and unforgettable laugh, he had a gift for lifting the spirits of everyone around him - in every room, every role, and every chapter of his life. He valued the agape love of Jesus Christ - a love defined by selflessness, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the well-being of others. He truly modeled this love. He would give the shirt off his back and drop everything to show up for the people he cared about. From his earliest years, his passion for agriculture and farming shone bright. Over the years, so did his love of learning, shown in his love of food and the soul-warming meals he prepared, his continual spiritual growth, and his agricultural skills. Whether pigs, chickens, rabbits, or dogs, he was devoted to the animals in his care. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Melody Payne; his children, Justin Payne, Brooklynn Howe and her husband, Mason Howe, and Reaghan Payne; his mother, Helen Payne; his sisters, Karen Sexton and Charlotte Wilson; and his siblings, Carrie Snyder, Alma Robb, and Loydel Robertson. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Davis; his stepfather, Charles Payne; and his brother, Johnny Davis. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
