George A. Williams, 95, of Del City passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026, in Newcastle. The son of Homer Fleetwood Williams and Carrie Lee (Roberts) Williams, he was born January 11, 1931, in Criner, Oklahoma.

George graduated from Dibble High School in 1949 and then served a proud four years in the U.S. Navy on the USS Juneau during the Korean War alongside his brother, Bobby Williams, and in the Seabees, the Navy's Construction Battalion.

George married Jean Sarrett on December 16, 1953, in the home of Pastor B. T. Neal.

He was a computer operator for Tinker Air Force Base for over 30 years until he retired. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and he grew the world's best tomatoes. He also loved woodworking and could beautifully build just about anything. He enjoyed spending time in Pauls Valley especially eating catfish at Punkin's. He was an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and OKC Thunder. He was a man of faith, a wonderful husband, an amazing Dad and a fantastic Grand "Pa", and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bobby Williams; and one sister, Judy Williams.

George is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Jean Williams; four daughters, Jottie Welchel and her husband Tommy, Janette Tedford, Laurie Jackson and her husband Terry, and Jo Ella Ramsey Lubbers and her husband, Lyle; one sister, Joann Plumb of Norman; twelve grandchildren, Maclain Cosby, Michael Cosby and wife, Jenny, Brandon Cosby and wife, Alisha, Karissa Stevenson and husband, Scott, Clarence Tedford, Joshua Richardson and wife, Nicole, Justin Tedford, Terry Jackson Jr. and late wife, Meaghan, Holly Jackson and husband, Jonathan, Nathan Lubbers and wife, Alyshia, Tyler Lubbers and wife, Davie, and Acasha Lubbers and fiancé Braden; 22 great grandchildren and one on the way; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be rendered by Barnes Friederich & Pope Funeral Home, 305, S Sooner Rd, Midwest City, OK 73110. Visitation for George will be Thursday, January, 29, 2026 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. The funeral service will be held at 10:00am. Friday, January 30, 2026, in the Ford Chapel at Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home. George's final place of rest will be St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma.
