Kenneth Thompson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brown's Funeral Service - Durant on Feb. 20, 2026.
Kenneth Joe Thompson "AKA K-Dog" of Denison, Texas and formerly of Del City, Oklahoma passed away on February 7, 2026, in Denison at the age of 56. Kenneth was born on November 13, 1969, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to parents Michael Kenneth and Linda Kaye (Henry) Thompson. Kenneth attended Epperly Heights Elementary School and Del City High School through the 11th grade to get a job at Big Eds Hamburger because his teacher told him to get at job instead of sleeping in her class.

He later worked as a Poker dealer at Newcastle Casino and before that he was a professional gambler and also worked with his brother Glen. Kenneth was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation and anyone who knew him knew the way to his heart was his diet coke and cigarettes. He loved coaching and watching his children play sports and was a very big OU Football fan. He always said he was born and bred Boomer Sooner. What he loved the most was family cookouts and having everyone close by. He loved his children, grandchildren and family deeply.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents Michael K. and Linda (Henry) Thompson and brother Michael D. Thompson.

Kenneth is survived by children Kenny Thompson and spouse, Matthew Thompson, and Mikayela Thompson; brother Glen Denson and wife Tammy; sister Rhonda McCreight and husband Bill; 7 grandchildren and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Kenneth's life will be held on Friday February 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown's Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
