Randall F. Proper, 58, of Corry, PA, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Corry Memorial Hospital.
He was born February 10, 1967, in Corry, PA, a son of Ronald Proper of Corry, PA.
Randy was raised and educated in Corry and attended Corry Area High School. After high school, he was a logger for a time. Randy made his career working at Corry Manufacturing Company, where he retired as a supervisor after 35 years. Over that great span, he had the privilege of working with many wonderful people in the community, including all three of his sons.
Randy's first love was his children and family, but horse pulling came in a close second. His grandfather, Milton, got him hooked on horse pulling at a very young age. Randy accompanied him to every horse sale and pony pull in the area, whether it was a school night or not. He shared many fond memories of the days when the "Proper Men" would all pile into their pickup and take off to attend any number of horse events. Randy would recall the day he given his first pony and permitted to join the rest of the clan in driving his own team of ponies.
He was a member of the NY State Horse Pulling Association and Buckeye Horse Pulling Association. He loved horses, horse pulling, his family and his grandsons and playing cards.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Milton and Mary Proper and many aunts, uncles and cousins, including, Bud Johnson, Sonny Brown and Tricia Proper.
In addition to his father, Randy is survived by his three sons, Jonathon (Samantha) Proper of Union City, PA, Bradley (Leanna) Proper of Clymer, NY and Devon Proper of Corry, PA; two grandsons, Benjamin and Evan; several aunts and uncles, including, Aunt Joanne Johnson and many cousins, including, Veronica Brown. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Family and friends are invited to call at Bracken Funeral Home, Inc., 315 N. Center St, Corry, PA on Thursday, June 19th from 5 pm to 8 pm and attend a funeral service there on Friday, June 20th 11 am.
