Richard David Bresnahan, known affectionately as Dick to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024, in Leominster, Massachusetts.
Born on February 17, 1942, in Fitchburg, MA, Dick was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He carried the legacy of his parents, the late Joseph and Esther (Poulson) Bresnahan, with pride and grace throughout his life. Dick was a graduate of Leominster High School, after which he honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he continued to serve his community at Ft Devens Commissary and Masons Bowling Alley until his well-deserved retirement.
Predeceased by his cherished wife, Lise (Wirtz) Bresnahan, Dick also joins his siblings, John Bresnahan and Joseph (Gus) Bresnahan, in eternal rest. He is survived by his loving family: his sister Donna Marx, his sister Linda Powell Buckman, his brother Jerry Bresnahan and his wife Elaine, his devoted daughter Christine Hilbrunner and her husband David, his son David Bresnahan and his wife Susan. Dick was an adored grandfather to Stephanie Day and her husband Sean, Patrick Bresnahan and Sonya Panzarella and his great-grandson Levi, Shane Bresnahan, Gabrielle Hilbrunner, and Joseph Hilbrunner, and many nieces and nephews. His caregivers, Julie Maslova and Shirley Stevens, provided him with exceptional care and companionship in his final years, for which his family is eternally grateful.
As we bid farewell to Richard David Bresnahan, we celebrate the remarkable man he was and the enduring impact he made on those around him. His memory will be treasured and kept alive in the stories told, the laughter shared, and the love he bestowed. Dick's journey through life was a testament to the power of kindness, the importance of family, and the beauty of a life dedicated to others. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us all.
Private service will be held.
in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 24, c/o Leominster Veterans Center, 100 West St., Leominster, MA 01453.

Condolences to his family... Always enjoyed Dickie & Skip's visits to Masons on many Thursday mornings over the past years. Dick would always bring a box-of-joe and some donuts from Dunkins and we'd talk for hours about anything and everything (and of course many laughs) - Goodbye Friend... Mike P

Many fond memories growing up next to the Bresnahan's, that I hold dear to my heart. I will never forget his sense of humor and how he always made you laugh. I hope Lisa is making him coffee and they are again together at last ... Peace to his family and friends he leaves behind. Julie French
