Obituary of Richard C. Lasher
Mr. Richard C. "Dick" Lasher, 87, of Tillboro Road, St. Johnsville, NY died on May 1, 2023, in New Port Richey, FL.
He was born in Nelliston, NY on February 2, 1936, the only child and son of Carlton and Susan Jakub Lasher of Nelliston.
Dick attended local schools in Fort Plain, and joined the United States Air Force in 1953. He traveled extensively during his time in the Air Force (Hawaii, Guam, Japan, and throughout the US); he worked as a Crew Captain, specializing in aircraft mechanics.
Upon leaving the Air Force in 1957, he returned to help manage the family dairy farm, which he did for most of his life, as well as also working for Sealtest, and also in the construction industry.
Dick married Jane Oldick in May of 1959. He was predeceased by Jane on August 8, 2022.
He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting, dancing, and dining out. Dick was also an avid racing enthusiast-often watching NASCAR races on tv. Upon retiring, he enjoyed working on farm tractors.
Survivors include his children and grandchildren: Terry and Rob Freedlander, and their children, Jordan and Maverick; Lorraine and Mickey Wilson, and Lorraine's children, Alexis Adams and John Adams; Rich and Michele Lasher, and their daughter, Brittany.
Committal services will take place on Friday, June 2nd, 2023 at 10:00 am at Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY, with military honors, and entombment following those services. A Celebration of Life will also occur.

Arrangements are entrusted to Gray-Houghtaling and Smith Funeral Home, Fort Plain, NY.
