Dr. Robert Bob Alan Wheeler

Dr. Robert "Bob" Alan Wheeler, 64 of Lima, passed away December 5, 2022, at Mercy Health – St. Rita's Medical Center with his loving children by his side.
Bob was born December 23, 1957 in Dayton to Robert and Betty (Kaiser) Wheeler, who preceded him in death.
Bob attended Fairview High School in Dayton and graduated from Prince George High School in Prince George, VA in 1980. He completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Miami in Ohio in 1980, he graduated Texas A&M University College of Medicine in 1988 and did his internship and residency at the Medical College of Virginia. Bob worked for Physicians Inc. for many years and most recently St. Rita's Medical Center where he started the Opioid Addiction Clinic in August of 2019. He was very successful in helping many patients; he had a true passion for helping people overcome this disease. Bob enjoyed golfing and traveling, especially to the beach and Vegas with his family. He was an avid sports fan; everything from ping-pong to fantasy football and he had a wonderful sense of humor and will be remembered for his jokes. Most of all, Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children, his beloved dog, Layla and his many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Bob is survived by his son, Kevin Wheeler; daughter, Jenna Wheeler and their mother, Darla Wheeler; sisters, Jill (Scott) Everett and Lee (Wayne) Bergen; brother, Scott (Nicole) Wheeler; his best friend, Dr. Bobby Ogdee and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his Mastiff, Layla.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES – SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 9, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
