Obituary of Robert John Lagerstrom, Jr.
Robert "John" Lagerstrom, Jr, affectionately known as "Leggs", age 65 of Minooka, IL, left us on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. He was born on August 9, 1958, in Cook County to Robert John, Sr, and Jean Gordon Lagerstrom. He was raised in Oak Lawn, IL, and attended school, where he graduated in 1976. He attended Trade School in Laramie WY, and was a mechanic with Ryder for 7 years, then with UPS for 28 years until he retired in 2014.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his best friend and wife of 32 years, Jane (Boothe) of Minooka and they were blessed with six kids, Kristin Jean, Sara Jane (Ellis Wright), Audrey Dawn, Diana "Dai" Marie, Jillian Esther (Will Kohler), and Jacob Alan; as well as many cherished grandkids and countless kids who loved him as "Papa Bear". He is also survived by his brother, Don (Pam); nephew, Dan (Angie); and niece Amy.
John was gregarious, with teasing and laughter that could be heard in the next county. He loved and was loved by so many. He leaves behind an endless circle of family and friends and all those "great guys down the road". He'd tell us now, "You'll get that, on a job like this."
