Robert William McDaniel, Jr.
Robert William McDaniel, Jr., age 61, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at his residence.
Robert was the born the son of Robert and Gloria (Berry) McDaniel on August 24, 1962, in Polo, Missouri. He was a 1979 graduate of Warsaw High School before he enlisted in the United States Navy. Robert had to be granted special permission to enlist as he was only 17 years old. Electricity was his chosen specialty as he mastered the trade and eventually became an instructor. He endured at least seven deployments and continued his services through Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He then worked at Kansas City International Airport and spent the last twelve years at Chillicothe Correctional Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Amber Rogers and her husband, Rolly, of Blue Springs, Missouri and Jade McDaniel-Meeker and husband, Maxwell, of St. Louis, Missouri; and one son, Joshua McDaniel and wife, Hannah, of Alton, Illinois; three grandchildren, Eli Miller, Sloan Rogers and Alexander McDaniel; one sister, Toni Leeds of Edwardsville, Illinois and a step sister, Roxanne Guess. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert W. and Gloria McDaniel.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 26, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri.
