Joan McDaniel, a beloved wife, mother, grandma, and devoted member of her church, has gone to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 84.
Joan graduated from Hinds Community College. Joan worked for the State of Mississippi as a data entry operator for over 30 years.
Joan will be remembered for her kind, loving, and generous nature. She was devoted to her family and she was a loving wife to Hilton McDaniel for 59 years. Joan cherished her children: Gary McDaniel, Kevin (and wife, Teresa Mignon) McDaniel, and Cheryl. Joan’s grandson, Joshua, was the apple of her eye. Joshua named Joan Gigi and she cherished that name.
Joan had various hobbies and interests that brought her immense joy. She found enjoyment in water color painting, reading books, and working in her flowerbeds. She found friendship and community at Wynndale Baptist Church of Terry where she enjoyed attending Sunday School, church, Bible study, and prayer meetings. Joan and fellow members of the church formed deep friendships which blessed her greatly.
Joan’s passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew her. Her memory will be kept alive through the cherished moments shared with family and friends and the impact she made on those who were a part of her life.
Joan is preceded in passing by her younger brother Darael, her mother Ollie J. Tanner, her sister Nell Houston, and her husband Hilton McDaniel. She is survived by her children: Gary McDaniel, Kevin (and daughter-in-law Teresa Mignon) McDaniel, Cheryl McDaniel, and beloved grandson Joshua McDaniel.
