Sue McDaniel, age 90, of Ronceverte, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 14, 2025. Born on April 13, 1935, in Ronceverte, Sue was the beloved daughter of the late Lawrence Gray and E. Helen Morgan Holliday.
Sue was known throughout the community for her hard work and dedication. Alongside her late husband, John Robert “Johnny” McDaniel Sr., she operated the McDaniel Vault Company for many years, building a legacy rooted in family and service. Their partnership, both in business and in life, was a testament to their deep love and commitment to each other.
A longtime and devoted member of the Lewisburg United Methodist Church, Sue’s faith was central to her life. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and was known as an excellent cook, often sharing her culinary talents with friends and family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sue was preceded in death by her brother, Junior Holliday, and her sister, June Armentrout. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory:

She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her warmth, her willingness to help others, and the love she shared with those around her.
A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Organ Cave with Rev. Bev Columbo officiating. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sue’s memory may be made to the Peyton Hospice House – 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901. Arrangements entrusted to Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, WV.
