Rosemary Anne Riberdy

Rosemary Anne Riberdy was born in Carbondale, PA to Joseph and Josephine Matte on August 23, 1929.
Hence our mother Rosemary proclaimed herself as "29" whenever asked her age!
She was born third of five children. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings, Joseph II, Frank,
Tom and Nancy. Rosemary of La Quinta, CA passed away early morning January 14th at Eisenhower
Medical Center in Rancho Mirage. Her husband of 57 years, Ernest Laurent Riberdy, predeceased her in
2005.
Rosemary married Ernest on July 19, 1948 and together began and completed an adventurous life path
living in Michigan, Pennsylvania, California, Colorado, again in Pennsylvania and finally retiring in La
Quinta, CA. They enjoyed traveling to the South Pacific and the Mediterranean, making many new
friends along the way.
Prior to her marriage, she was a legal secretary, and worked at the Pentagon. In California she taught
some of the first word processing computer classes. Mom loved and was an avid golfer and sports
enthusiast often heard to say "wanna make a coffee bet". She enjoyed watching family baseball games,
was an art lover, cook and homemaker with more than a designer's touch. Loved day trips to the beach
and very importantly loved her dogs, Jolie and current companion JoJo.
Rosemary enjoyed a blessed, long life and we will remember her "Forever 29". Surviving Rosemary are
her daughter, Cheryl Rorie of Napa, and two sons, Curtis Riberdy and Cary Riberdy, both of Santa Rosa,
four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are with FitzHenry-Wiefels.,with a viewing on February 14, from 1-4 pm at Wiefels Palm
Springs Chapel, 690 Vella Rd, Palm Springs. A Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church,
47225 Washington St., La Quinta, on February 15th, 10:30 am. Interment will follow at noon in
Coachella Valley Cemetery, 82925 Avenue 52, Coachella, where she will rejoin her husband for eternity.
