Roy Pruitt Obituary

Roy (Bubba) Michael Pruitt, 46, of Blythewood, died on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Born in Columbia, SC, on January 23, 1976, he was a son of the late Roy Pete and Joan Winters Pruitt. Bubba was a graduate of Spring Valley High School and employed as a Route Manager by Valley Beverage. Although he enjoyed all sports, he was an avid bowler, and fan of the Atlanta Braves, Charlotte Hornets, Carolina Panthers, and Carolina Gamecocks. He also was a great cook and enjoyed cooking regularly.
Survivors include his sister, Mary Pruitt Caywood; brothers, Charles Edward Pruitt and Roy Ronald Pruitt; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, god children, extended family Charlie Cook (Joann), Ray Comer (Tessa), Matt Yarchuck (Michelle), Philipp Hudak (Christina), and his loving animals, Kitty, Ying, and Honey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Royce Ann Pruitt and Nancy Pruitt Hall; brother, Michael Howard Pruitt; and dogs, Cocky, Blue, and Chrissy.
The memorial service for Mr. Pruitt will be held at 6:30 o'clock, Monday, June 20th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 5 o'clock.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, 2751 Bull St, Columbia, SC 29201.

We have known Roy since highschool and he was always so fun and kind. He had the best heart and helped out so many people in his life. He had a great sense of humor and we will remember him always. We are glad he is pain free and reunited with his parents and his beloved dog, Cocky.
