Shirley Sellers Johns

Shirley Sellers Johns, 95, of Victoria, VA went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Murray Johns; her parents, Daniel Herbert Sellers and Mabel Elizabeth Sears Sellers and her brother, William Daughtry Sellers. Shirley is survived by nieces, Sandra Sellers Mitchell (Hugh) of Danville, Andrea Sellers Bendo (Pete) of Leesburg and Carol Sellers Martin of Canyon City, CO; sister-in-law, Carolyn Hollett Sellers of Staunton: great-nieces, a great-nephew, great-great- nieces and a great-great-nephew; very special friend, Dotty Raine Newcomb (Billy) of Kenbridge. Shirley was born in Enfield, NC and grew up in Suffolk, VA. She was married to Harvey for 61 years. Shirley had many talents and was very meticulous with each. She will always be remembered for her strong faith and one who loved her church, family, friends and community. Since 1948, Shirley has been a devoted member of Ledbetter Christian Church where she played the piano for 73 years. The family will receive friends at Ledbetter Christian Church, (4346 Double Bridges Road, Meherrin, VA 23954) Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from noon until start of services at 1PM. Interment in the church cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers, Frances, Sheila and Bessie.
