Shirley B. Kenney

Shirley B. Kenney, age 95, of Wesleyville, residing at Niagara Village, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022. She was born in Erie on December 7, 1926, daughter of the late John Bellingham and Mae Fors Bellingham Gleason.

Shirley was a 1944 graduate of Wesleyville High School and worked as a secretary for 27 years at Wesleyville Elementary School until her retirement. She was a member of the Siebenbuerger Club and St. Paul's United Church of Christ, where she sang in the church choir. Shirley was active for over 30 years with Sweet Adelines and enjoyed ushering at the Erie Playhouse. She also volunteered for the Hamot Aide Society.

Shirley is survived by four children, Gregory Kenney (Jean), Cynthia Larson Lee (Richard), Lisa Appleton (Douglas) and Jeff Kenney (Mary); one brother, Donald Bellingham; one sister-in-law, Margaret Bellingham; six grandchildren, Eric Larson (Jessica), Marc Larson (Sandra), Kyle Kenney, Kyra Loktionov (Stas), Dana Appleton and Drew Appleton; six great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George "Sid" Kenney; two brothers, John "Jack" and Richard "Dick" Bellingham.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Saturday from 11 am until the time of the Funeral Service there at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. David Edmunds. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tying Vines at www.tyingvines.org, a mission program serving at-risk communities internationally.
