Stanley Glenn Belter, 75, of Amarillo, Texas went to be with Lord Tuesday, November 1, 2022.
Stanley was born in Amarillo, Texas on September 8, 1947, to Anthony and Cora Belter. He graduated from Amarillo High in 1965 and was a Sandie till the
end. He loved being able to keep the rivalry alive with his children who attended Tascosa. He then attended Amarillo College but decided to pursue a career in Law Enforcement. He joined the Amarillo Police Department where until retirement 27 years later he served as a Patrol Officer. The year after retirement he spent "honey-doing," when he decided he worked harder than ever before and went on to join the team of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a prison guard, where he remained for the next 14 years. After retiring to become a full-time stay-at-home grandpa, he loved working and spending time helping his youngest in all his business pursuits.
Stanley was a son, Husband, Dad, Uncle, and his favorite by far a PaPa. He was known by many names, but they all meant love. He was a collector of things, too many to list, and a foodie to boot.
Stanley married the love of his life, Barbara, on April 17, 1972. They shared fifty wonderful event-filled years together. They had three beautiful children, Anthony Lee, Ashley Lenee, and Andrew Leon, whom he loved dearly and unconditionally. He worked hard to spoil them to the point of rottenness. In 2006 he got promoted to his favorite role of PaPa, with his Abbigail Grace, again in 2008 with Maddelyn Nakye, and most recently in 2022 he welcomed his first grandson, his mini-me, his Sebastian Benjamin Andrew. He was a wonderful dad, but an even better PaPa.
Stanley was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Anthony and Cora Belter, a brother Edmond Belter, a sister Annie Potts, and his youngest son Andrew Belter all of Amarillo.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Belter, his children, Melissa Barker and husband David of Ashville, NC, Michael Osmer and wife Brandi of Joplin, MO, Anthony Belter, Ashley Belter, his "unofficial/official" daughter Brandy Harris and husband Brandon, his greatest grand blessings Abbigail Belter, Maddelyn Belter, Sebastian Belter, granddogs Prince Louis and Princess Penelope and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
