Tony R. Vuncannon

Tony Rain Vuncannon, 86, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at his home.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Chaplain Tim Pheagin officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends following the service.
Born on June 1, 1936, in Randolph County, NC, Tony was the son of the late George Melvin Vuncannon and Vessie Lee Chambers. Tony was a 1954 graduate of Asheboro High School and als a graduate of Wingate College. He served in the US Army and he was a realtor and broker, who developed several properties in Asheboro. Tony was also the owner of Stone Shoes, Inc. He was a former member and deacon of Oakhurst Baptist, former member at Cross Road Baptist Church and First Assembly. Tony loved his family more than anything.
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Jean Hartman, Louise Allred, Irma Thomas and brother, George V. Vuncannon.
Surviving are his wife, Billie Sue Stone Vuncannon, daughters, Susan A. Vuncannon, Ranette Vuncannon Rodden (James), sister, Barbara V. Winslow (Claude); grandchildren, Hannah M. Rodden, Daniel R. Rodden; and great grandchildren, Elijah R. Rodden and Isabella S. Rodden.
