Tyler James McClarren,35, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024.Tyler was born on January 12, 1989, in Camphill, Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of Thomas and Janine (Cassatt) McClarren. He was one of two children and is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Judith (Row) Cassatt and paternal grandparents, Ottis and Maxine (Rinehart) McClarren.
Tyler was born and raised in the church that guided his elementary and teen years. He was in the choir at West Hanover Elementary School and began playing the acoustic string bass in 5th grade. He also played in the school orchestra. He quickly advanced and became a member of the Hershey Festival Strings orchestra, the children's orchestra mirroring the adult Hershey Symphony. His musical interests continued as he became part of the Bethany Church of the Nazarene Worship Team and Nazarene Philadelphia District Impact Team. He was self-taught in electric bass, acoustic guitar and electric guitar. During his senior year in high school, he was a worship leader for the Impact Team. He also played in the high school level orchestras including honors orchestra and district orchestra.
Tyler also began his love for the gym in high school. He found an outlet for stress and a community to help him begin his journey as a professional body builder. His goal was to qualify for National Stage Competition. He got his foot in the door marketing himself to Planet Fitness (they were not hiring at the time, but they did hire Tyler to work part time). This was the beginning of his journey. After many years of sacrifices, hard work, facing opposition and giving up desserts and his favorite foods for long periods of time, his goal was achieved on December 18, 2021 when he took 3rd place Novice at the 2021 NPC National Championships in Florida.
Tyler graduated from Central Dauphin High School in 2007 and Central Penn College 2012 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. This education was his springboard into a career of business and recruiting first in Virginia and then returning to Pennsylvania. His leadership skills, ability to communicate with excellence and work ethic served him well in both his business career and career as a trainer.
Tyler had many skills that he learned while working side by side with his dad. Such as, completely tearing his car apart and putting it back together. Tyler was a skilled mechanic, just like his father, and was also ready to tackle any project.
We are thankful for the "village" who helped to raise Tyler and lead him to Christ. We know that he is in Heaven right now in the arms of Jesus and reunited with family. Words cannot describe our pain and how much we will miss our Tyler but we take comfort in knowing that we will see him again.
Tyler is survived by his loving Parents; a Sister Caitlin Wolfe and her husband Justin, Niece Evelyn, Nephew Odin and Niece Adaline; his Maternal Grandfather James M. Cassatt Sr. and Christa Restifo, honorary McClarren and Aunt to Tyler's nieces and nephew; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wealth of family and friends who loved him and will miss him immensely.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a visitation, to celebrate a beautiful life lived, on March 16, 2024 from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. with funerary services to begin at 3:00P.M., at the LCBC Christian Church, 4150 Chambers Hill Rd Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

I remember the day Tyler first came in to my sister Sue's home with his Mom and Dad, not long after coming home from the hospital. The Pool he loved in my sister's back yard became a favorite spot over the years. He (and Caitlin) mowed the grass surrounding it as well. Pictures are of Valerie (dog) with Tyler - she loved him a LOT, and Ally and Caitlin sharing a swim. Two other photos are attached of Tyler enjoying a relaxing day and eating at the luau that Cait and Ally had that day at Aunt Sue's. Much love being sent to heaven from her, and me, Sharon Knopic.

Tyler recruited me last July to join the Acentra Health team as a Service Support Facilitator in the CSED Waiver Program in West Virginia. He was so kind, answering all my questions, and sending me the documentation I needed. I am so sorry to hear this news. His friends and family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Tyler was a frequent member of Platinum Fitness, and I always admired his commitment to the gym. I only got to speak to him once, telling him how he reminded me of a famous bodybuilder (Joey Swole, for those who know him). However, I saw him so often that it felt like I personally knew him. This will certainly weigh heavily on my heart, and I send my deepest condolences to his family and everyone he has been close to. Rest easy, big guy.

Tyler was amazing. When he moved back up to PA he met me for coffee and we talked about everything. I´ve known Tyler since elementary school and he was one of the greatest. He was caring, sweet, compassionate, really listened. He will be deeply missed.
