Memorial services for Velta Elaine "Nanny Bud" (Patty) Bowerman will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM at OK Cremation & Funeral Home Chapel, 2415 N. Walnut Ave, Oklahoma City, OK.
Velta was preceded in death by Father, Jessie Patty, Mother, Dorothy Janes Patty, Sisters, Wilma Jean Romines, Rachel Mays, Sharon Romines, Carolyn Sue Tucker, and Melissa Kay Patty.
She is survived by Husband, Harold Dean Bowerman, Brother, Truman Patty, Daughter, Heather Dawn (Patty) Bratcher, Son-in-Law – Jeffrey Allen Bratcher, Grandsons, Brennan Tyler Bratcher and Braxton Chase Bratcher, Stepdaughter, Cristi Bowerman and husband Gary Saunders, Stepson – Carl Bowerman and wife Melissa Bowerman and family, Multiple nieces and nephews who’s lives she touched in many ways. Her deep-rooted love for family connections has kept the closeness for many 2nd, and 3rd cousins to be so close today. She was the link that brought many together.
Velta worked a while at Western Electric, Seagate, ran a housekeeping business and was then a fulltime homemaker and grandmother better known as “Nanny Bud”.
She was a devout Christian and loved to sing. Some of her hobbies were interior decorating, crafting, gardening, cooking and party planning. She loved volunteering at school, reading to students, working with teachers and throwing the best home room parties. She also loved the outdoors and spent many summers with family at the lake camping and boating as well as baseball games, White Water and Frontier City, the list of things she loved to do could go on…
Velta was a woman that wore many capes and loved by many. She loved showing those she cared about new experiences and most of all, making those around her smile and feel loved unconditionally. Her smile would light up any room and will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
