STEVE WAYNE TOWNSEND

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Steve W. Townsend, 75, died unexpectedly October 29, 2025, at the Veterans hospital. He was born May 31, 2025, in West Pointe, CA, the son of Elton Townsend and Erma (Lang) Townsend.

Steve attended Bullard High, and later enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee. He served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in August of 1970. He was a very respected mason for over 50 years and had his work published and photographed in Architectural Digest. Steve had four children with former wife Sara and later re-married his wife Danne. He enjoyed spending time with his family, some of his best memories were at Bass Lake, CA. He also enjoyed raising and training his chickens and horses for many years. Steve was a loving man and father, he enjoyed playing with his grandkids and terrorizing them for fun.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his older sister Elaine Davis; son Scott Wayne Townsend, daughter-in-law Stacia Townsend and stepdaughter Kelley Aderhold.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Danne Townsend [St. Petersburg, FL]; oldest son John Wayne Townsend his wife Maria [Fresno, CA], youngest son Barry Wayne Townsend and his wife Monica [Oklahoma City, OK], daughter Carey Lynne Keahbone [Oklahoma City, OK]; ten grandchildren Anthony and his wife Veronica, Zackary, Rachell, Serrina, Zander, Joey, Zeth, Ethan, and Emma; three great grandchildren, Neah, Kaius, and Rowan; older brother Jim Webb and his wife JoAnn [Grass Valley, CA], older sister Jackie Barnes and her husband Tom [Morgan Hill, CA]; eight nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Following cremation Steve's ashes will be laid to rest in Pagosa Springs, CO.
