On July Saturday July 9th, Victoria Ann Johnson, passed away peacefully in the arms of her four children. She took her last breath surrounded by love and sunlight in the mountains of North Carolina. "Vicki" grew up in the historic home of "Rocky's Edge Mansion" in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was the oldest daughter of Loretta Jean Harty and Dr. Paul Dewey Johnson and her Brother Fredric T. Johnson and Tamara Brown.
Vicki was a 1972 graduate of Vigo County High School and after moving to Pennsylvania and spent a career in Insurance. She was also an advocate for Veterans Rights as with Children with Cancer. She was a seamstress who sewed countless blankets, face masks and Teddy Bears with love. Vicki always went the extra mile for those in need. She was loyal to making the world a better place and her larger-than-life personality made sure to let others know that meant something to someone out there. Those who she touched will always remember her contagious laugh and words of encouragement as she continued to always keep moving forward.
If you were one of the lucky ones to have known Vicki you would know the title that she was most proud of was the name, "Momo", which her grandchildren chose for her. There was no greater joy in the world to her than her Grandbabies; they were the center of her world. Momo was the compassionate instigator of fun and shenanigans. Each grandchild knows that she was dedicated and loved them fiercely. If any Grandchild had a request for Momo the answer was always "Yes and here is some more!" Vicki loved English and Scottish history, PBS Masterpiece, FDR and Mark Twain Poetry.
Momo loved to laugh and when she did her blue eyes twinkled. She always saw the best in any person or situation and this attitude made her come out on top many hardships in life. Vicki loved listening and dancing to music as loud and as often as she could. She encouraged within her children a love of life and finding of being true to themselves. Momo loved sitting on the porch with her Beloved Dog, "Blue" and just soaking in all the simple beauty of the world. She constantly reminded those in her life to not take things too seriously and that," This too shall Pass". And above all to never lose the ability to find joy and laughter in a moment. It is always there within you.
Momo is survived by her Dedicated Dog Blue and his countless Dog Toys. Her sister Tami and niece Kori Lynn Brown. Her brother's children Matt and Heather Johnson. Her Daughter Kat Ludlow and Granddaughter Quynn Louise. Her son Walter James Ludlow, Esquire and his sons Madison James and Zane Xavier as with their mother Elise Walkington. Her Son Ricky Litchford and Grandson's R.J. and Sawyer B. and their mother Val Litchford. Her Baby Boy Fredric Litchford and his Wife Julie Litchford and their children Tyler, Ryan, Breanna, David, James and Amy and her Great Granddaughter Sawyer. She is also survived by the mother of James and David who is Leah Beemer. Her nephew D.J. Johnson preceded her in heaven.
We will miss you so much Momo. Your legacy will live on in the form of laughter and singing and watching shooting stars at night. Thanks for it all Mama, your love is felt in every heart beat. And as always, "I see skies of Blue and I think to myself What a Wonderful World Oh YEAH!"
