Clara Johnson Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 24, 2025.
Clara Johnson, age 83, of Unionville, Missouri, passed away on September 23, 2025, at the University of Missouri Hospital.
Clara was born on April 25, 1942, in Unionville, Missouri, to Chancie "Chic" Tingley and Zeltha Alice Tingley (Fitzwater). She was raised in Unionville and graduated from Unionville High School in 1960. In 1961, she married the love of her life, C. Richard Johnson. Together they built a home and raised two children, Lillian and Clinton.
A devoted homemaker, Clara dedicated her life to caring for her family and friends. Her love and loyalty knew no bounds, extending far beyond her own children as she lovingly helped raise multiple generations. She enjoyed crafting, puzzle books, reading, and in later years, traveling with her family.
Clara accepted the Lord into her heart at a young age and was a faithful member of Broadlawn Baptist Church. For over 50 years, she poured her heart into teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, touching countless lives with her faith and kindness. She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her church, and her community.
Clara is survived by her siblings, Lillian Elliott and Clinton Tingley; her children, Lillian Caley and Clinton Johnson; her grandchildren, Evelyn Faye Holtel (Billy), Jennifer Dorsey (Kevin), Brittany Johnson (David), and Briana Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Richard Holtel (Renee), Emerald Weaver, Angel Holtel, Eli Dorsey, and Brandon Holtel; and her great-great-grandchildren, Anna Holtel and Aristotle Weaver. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard, who passed away on April 19, 1999; her uncle Jackie and aunt Thelma; her brother-in-law Leroy Elliott; her son-in-law John Caley; her nephew Larry Tingley; and her great-niece Joni Elliott.
A funeral service will be held at Thomas Funerals Home on September 26 at 11:30am with a visitation an hour prior, with burial following at Unionville Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor Clara's life and faith.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that Clara is now reunited with her loved ones in Heaven, and that her legacy of love and faith will continue for generations to come
